Canapes
Canapes are individual appetizers or interruptions.
Here are some ideas. The one thing they tend to have in
common is that the toppings are smaller than the fillings,
which is what "canape" means.
A general approach:
Stuff Athens Phyllo Cups
If you use these, bake them at 350F on a baking sheet for 3-4 minutes to crisp, let cool,
stuff, then rebake for about 5 minutes if hot. The broiler might be best.
Some ideas:
Hot:
- Provolone, sliced good turkey, and a small ball of pesto
- Brie and Bacon
- Smoked Ham and Swiss
- Taco meat and cheddar
- Pulled pork and cheddar (optionally cole slaw)
- Beefaroni with shredded mozzarella
- Mini-Ruebens
- Mini-missing 3/4: rare roast beef, cheddar, one drop of garlic butter
Cold:
