Wucherer
Rumor has it that there'll be an English version of Wucherer
out soon. In the meantime, these apply to the 2nd German version.
Card Summary
Tenants
- Der Akademiker: (Scientist) No special abilities.
- Die Familie: (The Family) Calls the police on their landlord
if he murders or bombs. Excluding the lunatic, naturally.
- Die Freaks: (Freaks) May only be put into an empty building
or one with other freaks. No one will live with freaks except
other freaks. (Or squatters. 2)
- Die Hausbesetzer: (Squatters) All other tenants pay no rent.
Each turn, the highest-paying tenant moves out. No new tenants will move in.
- Der Manager: (The Manager) No special ability.
- Die Mutter mit Kind: (Mother and child) Can be withdrawn
to hand at any time. 1
- Der Musiker: (Musician) If a musician moves into a house
with no other musicians, all other tenants leave.
- Die Prominenten: (Celebrities) Celebrities only pay half
rent, but all other apartments (including empty ones) in the
building pay double.
- Der Renfner: (Old Man) Will only live on the first floor
or in a developed cellar.
- Der Single: (The Single) Singles cannot be murdered.
- Der Student: (Student) A student who moves into a building
with other students pays one more rent than the previous student.
- Die Umzugsspediteur: (The Mover) His landlord gets 2 DMW for
each Umzug (move) card played. He only pays 1 rent.
Building Cards
- Dach: (Roof) Normal roof.
- Dachausbau: (Roof Upgrade/Loft) Can upgrade any finished roof.
Does not count as a floor.
- Dachwohnung: (Roof Apartment) Can only be used as a normal
roof, but allows an apartment there. Does not count as a floor.
- Flachdach: (Flat Roof) Can be used as a normal roof, or as an
upgrade to any other roof. It can never be upgraded.
- Kellerwohnung: (Cellar Apartment) Can be placed under any
building that doesn't already have one. Does not count as a floor.
Action Cards
- Abriß: (Demolition) Can only be played if all the
tenents in the target building can be moved. The player whose building
it is determines where the tenants move. The house cards are returned
to the owning player's hand.
- Alibi: (Alibi) Prevents a player from being arrested. The
player on his left is arrested instead...unless he has an alibi, and so on.
- Bombe: (Bomb) Destroy one building. The cards are shuffled
and played under the draw pile.
- Das Duale System: (Recycle) Take the top card of the discard pile.
- Eigenbedarf: (Eviction) All tenants in one building return
to the building owner's hand.
- Gericht: (Court) Can be used as one of:
- Alibi
- Get out of Jail free
- Der Irre: (The Lunatic) Played anytime a murder or bomb occurs.
The lunatic retargets the effect. The police are powerless against
the lunatic.
- Makler: (Broker) Player gets one month's rent of the moved
tenant from a player who played a Move card.
- Mietweigerung: (No Rent) One tenant pays no rent next turn.
- Mord: (Murder) Discard one tenent (including squatters) to the
bottom of the draw pile.
- Politik: (Politics) Can be used as any of:
- Building Removal
- Eviction
- Get out of Jail free
- Polizei: (Police) Rid an apartment of squatters. Can be used
by the target of "Mord" or "Bombe" to call the police.
- Umzug: (Move) Move one tenant into any empty apartment or
to the bottom of the draw pile.
Interpretations and Rules Changes
- While in jail, a player gets one rent per apartment.1
- A Flat Roof may only be played on a building if no one is
living in the roof apartment (if any) or if the tenants can
be relocated. 2
- If multiple Brokers are played on the same Move, the
player receiving the tenant must pay each Broker. If
he does not have enough money to play both, he shorts
one or both. The shortfall may be distributed as the
paying player sees fit. 2
Variants
- Allow the Family to call the police if their building is
bombed or if a murder is committed to a tenant in their
building. 1
- The strategy of getting huge piles of cards early is too
effective and not very interesting. To fix that, charge
3 for the 11th-15th cards, 4 for the 16th-20th,
and so on. Probably a better alternative is to disallow
drawing more than 10 cards.2
